My name is Brooklyn (Bee), I am a folk herbalist and artist of mixed Nordic & Celtic descent. I honor & remember my ancestors and heritage by practicing a variety of ancient crafts. I find endless inspiration in old life ways and in the magical mystique of cultural arts & expression. In my own art and practices, I draw upon the mystical, the strange, the surreal, and the sacred. I hope to bring human and interspecies connection through stories of various shapes, forms, and stories guided by the land around me.

The plant path found me at a time in my life where I really had nowhere else to turn. My desperation and exhaustion surrounding a myriad of mental struggles from chronic anxiety and depression to extreme OCD led me to the healing magic of the natural world. I have never looked back and I continue to strengthen my relationship to the plants, animals, fungi, water, earth; everyday, in any way I can. They have always been a part of us, and us a part of them.

Nudie Herbals is a small home grown apothecary shop on Chumash land in the Santa Ynez Mountains above so called Santa Barbara, CA, nestled in the oak woodland. Rooted in seasonal, small batch, and local medicines. I believe in slow, sometimes very slow… intentional living, and I make medicine the same way- with slow traditional folk processes. Most herbs and flowers at grocery stores come from other countries and are highly processed to where the spirit, vitality, and medicine of the plant is diminished. I am passionate about providing quality wholesome herbal products to my community. I have my bachelors degree in psychology where I emphasized in alternative healing modalities as well as child & adolescent psychology. I have my certification in Herbalism through the Chestnut School of Herbalism: Herbal Immersion 1000 hour course. I have also been to various workshops (through the CA School of Herbal Studies, Blue Otter School of Herbal Medicine, ), conferences, and gatherings surrounding plant medicine and traditional life ways.
