This soothing, skin repairing salve contains three very ancient and medicinal plants key to the ecological system we are in, the Santa Ynez Mountain Range. All of these plants would not be here today if not for the stewardship of the Chumash peoples. For this, we give endless gratitude and reverence to their presence and spirit in this sacred land and in these medicines.

Hummingbird sage is a rhizomal perennial that commonly finds a home under shaded oak woodlands. Like most plants in the mint family, it contains an abundant supply of resins, terpenes, and flavonoids which contribute to its flavor, smell, and medicinal benefits.Traditionally, Hummingbird sage has been used for its anti-anxiety, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory complexes. This plant has a lot of warm comforting medicine to offer as it helps relieve anxiety, and repairs the body through its aromatic and nervine qualities.

California Poppy needs no introduction. It covers the landscapes of our state like a blanket of sunshine and love. Most don’t know however that poppies contain a multitude of medicine. The flowers, leaves, and roots can all be used in various ways. Poppies are commonly used for their ability to promote sleep and relaxation. This plant has a deep folkloric background of promoting long lasting health and happiness. We used its vibrant flowers in this salve for it’s potent anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory qualities and for long lasting nourishing skin health.

Yarrow is the guardian angel of the plant kingdom. Named after the greek god, Achilles, because of its powerful warrior like compounds. Yarrow is your best ally for defeating any ailments and disease in the body. When used in a salve, it gently but vigorously works to repair any skin infraction from bug bites to cuts to burns to dryness, to sore muscles, etc.
